This is to inform all interested applicants that the ABU admission list for the 2025/2026/2025 academic session has been released by the school management. Read through this article to know how to check your admission status.

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) has released the names of the students who have been successfully admitted into the 2025/2026/2025 academic session.

The List contains the names of the data of students admitted into the university to all the different courses it offers.

About Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)

Ahmadu Bello University Zaria is a federal government research university in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. ABU was established on 4 October 1962, at the University of Northern Nigeria.

The university has two campuses: Samaru (main) and Kongo in Zaria. There is a pre-degree school in Funtua a few kilometers from the main campus owned by the university.

History of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)

The University of Ibadan, founded in 1948, was the lone institution in Nigeria as it neared independence on October 1, 1960.

Nigeria’s then-three districts and the nation’s capital, Lagos, were advised to create new institutions in the significant Ashby Commission report (submitted a month before independence).

Yet, the regional authorities had already started developing institutions before the study.

Ahmadu Bello University Faculties

The University has thirteen faculties:

• Faculty of Administration
• Faculty of Agriculture
• Faculty of Arts
• Faculty of Education
• Faculty of Engineering
• Faculty of Environmental Design
• Faculty of Law
• Faculty of Life Science
• Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science
• Faculty of Physical Science
• Faculty of Social Science
• Faculty of Veterinary Medicine

 The Agric Colleges

The university also has the Division of Agric Colleges (DAC), a research center that was founded earlier than the university but later amalgamated with it.

In 2018, the College of Medical Sciences, which now has five faculties, replaced the Faculty of Medicine. The five faculties include:

• Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
• Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences
• Faculty of Clinical Sciences
• Faculty of Dentistry
• Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.

Admission List 2025/2026/2025 Academic Session

Recently, the university relocated various departments from Kongo to Samaru (the business school), including accounting, business administration, and insurance and actuarial science.

The names of applicants who were granted provisional admission are listed on the admission lists.

Institutions usually release admission lists after the conduct of the admission screening exercise, they come in different batches: 1st Batch is (Merit List) followed by 2nd, the 3rd, and other Batches.

ABU admission list has been successfully uploaded online.

How to Check ABU Admission List

• Navigate to the ABU admission portal 
• Input your JAMB Registration Number in the required column.
• Finally, tap on Search to access your ABU admission status.

The admitted candidates are advised to immediately upload their O’Level results on the JAMB portal.

Those who were offered different programs different from what they wanted should apply a change of course to the new one on the Jamb portal.

You can also access your status from the JAMB Admission Status Checking portal. Follow the procedure below to know your ABU admission status:

• Navigate to the Jamb Efacility portal
• Sign in to your Jamb profile with your username and password.
• Scroll down then find and tap the ‘Check Admission Status‘ tab.
• Choose your Exam year and Enter your registration number in the required columns.
• Finally, tap ‘Check Admission Status‘ to check your ABU admission status.
