About Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY)

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) is a tertiary education school in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The Ojere campus is located in the south-east area of Abeokuta and has around 960 hectares of undulating land bordered to the south by the Ogun River.

It is named after Nigerian President Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, who was elected but failed to take office in 1993.

During Harris Eghagha’s military administration, the polytechnic was legally established in 1980 as Ogun State Polytechnic, but the first class of 220 students enrolled in January 1979.

The Polytechnic started on two temporary campuses, Oke-Egunya and Onikolobo, before moving to Ojere in April 1985 and March 1988.

The student population in the 2004-2005 semester was 18,878, with roughly 520 academic and non academic staff.

MAPOLY ND Admission Entry Requirements.

1. To be eligible for the Post-UTME test and admission screening process, candidates must meet the MAPOLY cut-off mark and the courses offered.

2. Candidates must have received at least 5 credit passes in relevant courses, including English Language and Mathematics, at the GCE O’level, WASSCE, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or recognized equivalents in no more than two (2) sittings.

3. Applicants must be at least 16 years old during the admission year.

4. Before being admitted, you must meet the department and faculty requirements at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

MAPOLY HND Admission Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission to the institution at the HND level, an applicant must have the following basic requirements:

1. Potential Higher National Diploma applicants must have credit (CGPA) of at least 2.50 in their National Diploma in the relevant ND Program.

2. Entrance to the Higher National Diploma program requires a National Diploma in the same curriculum with at least a lower credit pass in the appropriate field of study and at least one year of relevant industry training experience after completing the ND.

3. In addition to the qualifications specified above, applicants must meet the ND program’s entrance requirements.

4. In exceptional circumstances, candidates with a passing grade and at least two years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field may be considered.

5. A minimum of twelve (12) months of supervised industry experience is required, along with five (5) credit passes in relevant O-Level subjects in no more than two sittings.

6. All HND programs at the institution, especially for potential candidates from other universities, require a transcript.
